Leiter draws the starting assignment for Tueasday’s matchup against the Guardians and offers some appeal for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues due to his strikeout potential. The 24-year-old prospect isn’t for the risk-averse as he’s been hit hard in a pair of spot starts this season in his first taste of the majors. He’s been outstanding at Triple-A Round Rock, posting a sparkling 2.84 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 37/8 K/BB ratio across 25 1/3 innings (five appearances, four starts) in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

Nola struck out eight and walked none in the 109-pitch outing. The shutout was nearly lost in the ninth, when Jeff McNeil doubled with one out and Starling Marte singled with two.
